  • American Adoption Congress – International organization providing adoption education to all members of the adoption constellation and professionals, as well as being an advocate for legislation at state and federal levels that support granting access to all individuals regarding family and heritage information.

  • Child Welfare Information Gateway – A service of the Dept. of Health and Human Services, they provide access to print and electronic publications, websites, databases, and learning tools to improve child welfare practice.

  • Evan Donaldson Institute - Non profit organization with mission to better the lives of everyone touched by adoption through sound research, education and advocacy that improves laws, policies, and practices. Website offers free information, webinars, newsletter, blogs, and updates on adoption research, laws, and practices.

  • National Council for Adoption - Non-profit organization with mission to meet the diverse needs of children, birth parents, adopted individuals, adoptive families, and all those touched by adoption through global advocacy, education, research, legislative action, and collaboration. Website offers free information, blog, and resources to all members of adoption triad.

  • Florida’s Adoption Information Center - A free service that provides adoption information and referral services to adoptive parents, adult adoptees, birth relatives, pregnant women and professionals.

  • - Online resource providing education and information on all types of adoption, the process, openness, parenting, and more. Site offers downloadable guides, an adoption entities/agencies/attorneys directory by state, adoption profile hosting for waiting families, and forums.

  • North American Council on Adoptable Children (NACAC) - Non-profit organization who supports, educates, inspires, and advocates so adoptive families thrive and every child in foster care has a permanent, safe, loving family. Website offers information and resources on foster care and adoption. -

  • Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption - The Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption is the only public nonprofit charity in the United States that is focused exclusively on foster care adoption.

  • Florida FAPA – This organization has a vision to create a Florida where children thrive because their foster and adoptive parents are fully empowered and recognized as expert partners in developing healthy families. Their mission is to support, educate, and advocate on behalf of foster and adoptive families. 

Adoption Agencies, Attorneys, & Other Professionals


  • Academy of Adoption and Assisted Reproduction Attorneys (AAARTA) – A not-for-profit organization with a membership of fewer than 400 professionals throughout the U.S. and Canada and has a number of committees dedicated to the improvement of adoption law and its ethical practice. Members of this organization are experts in the field of adoption law, interstate adoption, and international regulations, and have been invited to join the academy based on meeting specific standards regarding their experience in adoption law.   • Foster-Care Adoption Resources Florida Department of Children & Families – Explore Adoption - Florida's adoption initiative aimed at promoting the benefits of public adoption. Explore Adoption urges families to consider creating or expanding their families by adopting a child who is older, has special needs, or is a part of a sibling group. Through public education, expanded partnerships and social media, Explore Adoption invites Floridians to learn more about the children immediately available for adoption in their home state and community.

  • Adopt US Kids – A national project working to ensure that children and teens in foster care get safe, loving, permanent families. Adopt US Kids educates families about foster care and adoption and gives child welfare professionals information and support to help them improve their services. We also maintain the nation’s only federally funded photo listing service that connects waiting children with families.


  • HAGUE Accredited/Approved Agencies/Persons - A list of current Accredited/Approved Adoption Services Provider. The list includes the Adoption Service Provider’s name, contact information, service location(s), inter-country adoption services provided, as well as Accreditation/Approval status and expiration dates. 

Support Services & Resources

  • Sylvia Thomas Center, Brandon - Offers variety of groups – psycho educational group for adoptive parents, parent-led drop in support group, child/adolescent support group ages 5-12, and an adolescent support group ages 13-17 -

  • Adoptive Families Magazine- Online magazine and online resource providing information about all things adoption - adoption process, open adoption, adoptive parenting, bonding with child, talking to child about adoption, webinars, newsletter, magazine, adoption guides, etc. Offers free resources and paid memberships. -

  • Adoptive Families Circle - A way to connect and share with a community touched by adoption. The site offers a directory for adoption agencies and attorneys, blogs, videos, articles, and groups. Offers online support groups where prospective/adoptive parents can connect with other adoptive parents to share experiences and ask questions. -

  • Fostering Families Today – Magazine and online resource providing information about foster and adoptive families. Magazines: Adoption Today and Fostering Families Today.

  • C.A.S.E. - Center for Adoption Support and Education – Online resource offering free resources from books and articles to movies and websites to provide guidance to help navigate the adoption journey/life-long experience. Monthly support groups/guest speakers.

  • Pact: An Adoption Alliance – A non-profit organization with a mission to serve adopted children of color since 1991. Use this link to gain access to free articles, essays, reviews, and information sheets on a broad range of topics listed below related to adoption, parenting, and race. 

  • Rainbow kids - An online resource designed to educate, and support families built through intercountry adoption. The largest central resource linking families, adoption professionals, humanitarian organizations, orphan-care and support missions, and children living out their lives in orphanages and group homes.

  • Creating A Family - Online resource providing education, information, webinars, podcasts, and more on infertility and adoption.
