Pattie is a Registered Marriage and Family Therapist Intern (#IMT2954) in the state of Florida and is Certified as an Adoption Competent Therapist by Rutger’s University. Pattie received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Saint Leo University. In addition, Pattie obtained her Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Argosy University. Pattie has received additional training through University of South Florida in Infant Mental Health, Love & Logic parenting, and Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP).
Pattie has a passion for children who have been affected by the child welfare system either through foster care or adoption. She has over 10 years of experience working with children and families including in a variety of settings. Pattie started her career while working on her undergrad as a youth specialist at local shelters. Since then, she became a certified case manager, was a case manager trainer, and was the post adoption specialist for two local counties. Pattie has transitioned to clinical work as a therapist working with children and families. She is currently a therapist and a psychiatric coordinator for a local non-profit as well as provides therapy to children & families in a private practice setting. In addition, Pattie facilitates a monthly teen (adoption-related) support group in Pinellas County, Florida.

Pattie enjoys partaking in speaking opportunities, serving as an advocate, networking with other professionals, and being involved in the community.
Pattie had the pleasure of being interviewed as an adoption expert on the Adoptions Truth podcast (click below to listen to the podcast episode). She continues to present at adoption competency trainings throughout Florida about her professional experiences in the child welfare and how this has strengthened her clinical skills when working with children and their families. Through her work in the child welfare and foster care system, Pattie has aided hundreds of families through the adoption matching process, adoption subsidy increase requests, linkage to community supports, and post adoption support. In addition, Pattie is the designated area leader in Tampa Bay for the non-profit, Transfiguring Adoption, and has been involved in their caregiver support groups along with being published media reviewer. Pattie is a certified Guardian Ad Litem in Hillsborough County and continues to advocate for the best interests of children.
